Basic Life Insurance

Active excluded employees can continue their Basic Life Insurance into retirement.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Active excluded employees who purchase Supplemental Life Insurance, or  are  eligible and transfer to a rank-and-file position and did not cancel their Supplemental Life Insurance, can continue into retirement.

Enrollment

Employees should contact MetLife up to 30 days after retirement to continue their coverage or they will lose the benefit.

Please note, employees  do not need to wait until retirement to continue their coverage, as they can contact MetLife prior to retirement.

Rank-and File Employees

If employees  purchased life insurance through  their  Union and have a Union sponsored life insurance, they should contact their Union.
